Ecodance Seattle

Explore your inner nature and your connection to the earth.

Nature is always in motion.  Even the stillness of rock holds within it the movement of molecules.  From birth our bodies move with breath and pulse and the motion of cells.  We are alive because of this movement.


Ecodance Seattle is a facilitated free-form movement class interweaving aspects of movement-based meditation, dance/movement therapy and group process.  The series is designed to deepen participants’ experience of connection to self and nature, body and mind, creativity and spirit.


What happens at Ecodance?

Leif facilitates a brief discussion around that week’s theme, leads a meditation, facilitates a free-form movement experience and then brings the circle together again for an opportunity to share the experience with other participants.  The experience is stirring, deep and fun.


I’ve never taken dance before.  Is that a problem?

Not at all.  You already have all you need simply by being a human on Earth. There is no right or wrong way to move at Ecodance. Come enjoy your own way of moving and your unique experience of who you are.


What if I feel self-conscious about moving in front of others?

Leif creates an atmosphere of safety, comfort and informality.  This is a wonderful place to stretch your boundaries and explore your own comfort level.  Remember that you are not there to perform, and no one is evaluating your experience.

SIX-WEEK SERIES

All series take place on six consecutive Monday evenings.  Cost for the series is $90.  A limited number of work-study spots are available per series.  For more information and to register for any series, contact Leif.

SINGLE SESSION CLASS

This is an opportunity to try the class out without committing to the full series.  Cost per intro class is $15.  Single session classes do not require registration, though I always appreciate knowing you are coming.
